ESI claims world class status through benchmarking our processes, procedures and service offering against some of the leading global Search Groups that we have aligned ourselves with. We have not established an exclusive formal alignment with any one Global Group but have elected to work with four different groups on a non-exclusive basis, giving us much greater global reach through their collective 200+ offices located in most major cities and their combined resources.

Not only does this wide alignment give us the ability to search for and / or place executives just about anywhere in the world, it also allows us access to some of the latest Executive Search technology and the opportunity to benchmark our procedures and practices as well as the results that we deliver, with global leaders in our field.

ESI is an African firm, based on the African continent and owned and managed by nationals from South Africa.

We have a track record of success in executing executive searches in many African countries over the past 5 years.

Expertise.

ESI is led by an experienced HR Professional, General Manager and Consultant, Gerrit Wahl. Gerrit is a seasoned business professional and entrepreneur and a trusted business advisor. He has experienced business from all angles – from staff roles to line roles, from trainee level to Board level and from working in large corporates to running his own entrepreneurial manufacturing business and in recent years, to working in a consulting capacity.
After a total of five years as Executive Search Consultant (initially as Director of the Executive Search Division of a listed and the largest recruitment Group in Africa and then as a Director of the oldest independent retained Executive Search firm in Africa) he decided to set up a new and differentiated Executive Search firm.

Gerrit teamed up with a number of experienced, respected and well connected and in some instances, semi-retired business leaders who act as advisors, business developers and Non-Executive Directors. They connect ESI with potential Clients and with potential Candidates.

Research expertise and Research resources form the engine room of any Retained Executive Search firm. ESI has access to a number of contract Researchers and unlike an Executive Search firm who is limited to using in-house research resources, ESI can select the contract Researcher or Research Firm who has the best expertise and ability to identify the best Candidates for a specific industry, role, function, demographic group or geographic area.
